Farhan has had a distinguished 25year long career as a serial entrepreneur, a senior corporate executive with multinational corporations in India, Australia, UAE, Singapore and has been engaged in running for-profit and not-for-profit social organization.
A gold medallist Mechanical Engineer from Pune University, Farhan left civil services and studied management program at Indian School of Business (ISB),Hyderabad and an Advanced Management Programme from Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.
During Farhan’s tenure as the Chief Functionary of Enactus in India, the organization grew from 10 colleges to 161 colleges with over 5,000 students actively involved in CSR and Entrepreneurial projects (aligning with UN SDG’s) supported and mentored by leading CEO’s from TATA Group, SYNTEL, Zee Telefilms, Mahindra & Mahindra, Walmart, KPMG, Unilever, Monster.com, Cargill, Diversey, RedBull, HSBC, PwC, Helion Ventures and others.
Farhan’s unique experience as a first-generation entrepreneur in establishing the IACO Group (building brands such as – Carrier, Daikin, airFORCE, airFIELD, etc) in 90’s steered the growth of IACO Group (later known as Norfolk Mechanical India Pty Ltd) to a INR 500 crore ($100 million) enterprise in just 15years, making him ideally placed to fire the zeal and fervour of budding young entrepreneurs.
Moreover, his passionate espousal of sustainable development for the past two decades has equipped him with the vision to inspire next generation of leaders as they tackle the complex issues confronting industry and public policy makers today.
Known for his meticulous, analytical and dynamic persona, 46-year old Farhan is always willing to embrace new challenges. He has mastered the art of dealing with diverse situations at the workplace.
His skill in people-management and ability of dealing with their varied backgrounds helps him to grasp business processes and work dynamics across diverse work cultures. His acumen in handling intricate portfolios such as process optimization, cost rationalization, top-line and bottom-line activities has always given him that extra edge as a Business Head.
Additionally, he has hands-on experience in managing various aspects including P&L, Strategy, Operations, Business Development and M&A (inorganic growth) in addition to handling a matrix organization structure.
He has been recognized by Business India & Outlook Money as an Emerging Business Leader in 2007. Farhan is also a leading member of organisations like BMA, CII, FICCI, Assocham, IGBC, TiE Mumbai Chapter, CII, and a member of The Task Force for Skill Development and CII India@75.
