Bringing sight to northern Bihar.

Established on 08 October 2020, the Purnia Surgical Centre was founded to address a critical gap in accessible eye care for rural and economically disadvantaged communities across Bihar’s underserved regions.
Akhand Jyoti set up this centre with a clear purpose: to make high-quality, affordable eye care available to those who are often the furthest from medical infrastructure, while advancing the mission to eliminate curable blindness.
Over the past five years, the centre has grown into a trusted regional surgical hub with 40 beds, delivering life-changing interventions at scale. What began as a response to an urgent need is today a leading eye care facility in the region, performing over 12,000 surgeries annually and serving thousands of patients from rural communities.
Since its establishment, the hospital has conducted more than 300,000 eye screenings, completed 55,000+ surgeries, and ensured that 90% of these procedures were provided free of cost, making quality eye care accessible to those who need it most.
Today, the Purnia Surgical Centre stands as a vital access point for restoring sight, dignity, and opportunity across North Bihar.
Every number represents a LIFE CHANGED, a FUTURE RESTORED.
